Document preparation systems that are oriented to an author's preparation of printed material have two aspects of the preperation. One is for writing the content of document, another is designing document presenation. Then, interactive document preparation systems must support the user with the both of the function constructing and organizing the document's logical structrue and the function manipulating presentaion of document.
In this thesis, we propose the interactive document preperation system with the two view, a logical view and a page view. The two view is for the same document and is displayed side by side. The logical view is a tree like-view, workspace for manipulation the logical structure and content. The page view is a WYSIWYG view, workspace for manipulation the layout structure and presentation.
This system enhance the usability of document preperation system. A prototype of our system is implemented under the UNIX system and the X window system.
