Major price shocks are frequently occurred in Korea stock market regardless of total volatility in the market. This paper concentrates on how the stocks experiencing major price shock move, while considering public information in the market. Using analyst report as a proxy, we find that major price events based on information related to the firm are followed by drift while events based on no-information are followed by reversals. In addition, we made portfolios with long-short strategy aligned with the fact we found, it is obvi-ously regarded as profitable strategies. These results are caused by not liquidity problem stem from stock price or size, but investors` inconsistent activity which means that investors underreact to news about funda-mentals and overreact to the shocks made by other factors. Finally, we also find that it is no relevance to sources of private information that analysts have an ability to discern the shocks followed by drift between price events unlike investors.
