Nomadic lifestyle has partially started to come back into our recent lifestyle. Looking at the latest changes in these new lifestyle, there are many new experiments for having different variables in the living space. As elements a space have begun to evolve, the physical parts of these elements have also begun to include illumination, as well as sound, color, or even temperature. In this paper, kinetic adaptive space was defined based on the existing studies. Reference cases which are helpful for designing kinetic adaptive space are summarized by functional and emotional approach. The user research was also conducted to consider the user experience. As a result, not only a functional approach but also an emotional approach is needed to design a kinetic adaptive space, and the kinetic elements should have their intuitive ways of movement and control method. It can be represented as a space with solicitude. The kinetic partition was proposed as an example of an element of a kinetic adaptive space. The movement was designed by designers’ workshop, and the prototype was created. Each possible movement and user per-spectives gave different effects on the participants’ emotions and their way of approaching to the space. In addition, the kinetic partition proposed to be used in the future office and caf´e. For an office space, this partition can be used to improve public communication compare to the static partition. For the caf´e, the kinetic partition can improve the negative side of openness while maintaining the positive side of openness. It is also expected to give a much pleasure and comfort atmosphere to the visitors.
과학기술의 발전으로 과거의 유목적인 생활방식이 현대에도 부분적으로 재도래 하고 있다. 이러한 삶의 방식의 변화에 따라 생활 공간도 다양한 변화의 시도가 이루어지고 있으며, 공간의 요소들이 진화함에 따라 음향, 색, 온도와 같은 비물리적인 요소 외에 물리적인 공간요소 역시 그러한 변화를 수용하고 있다.
본 논문에서는 동적 적응 공간을 기존 연구들을 바탕으로 정의하였으며, 관련 연구와 사례들을 기능적, 감성적 관점에서 정리하였다. 그리고 기능적인 부분뿐 아니라 사용자 경험을 고려한 동적 적응 공간의 디자인 방향을 제안하기 위해 사용자 조사를 수행하였다. 결과적으로 동적 적응 공간은 움직임과 작동방식에 있어서 사용자가 직관적으로 이해할 수 있는 방식을 택해야 하며 사용자를 ‘배려하는’공간이 되어야 할 것이다.
본 논문에서는 동적 적응 공간 요소의 한 사례로 동적 파티션이 제안하였다. 워크샵을 통해 움직임 디자인이 도출되었으며 프로토타입을 제작하였다. 그 후 파티션의 움직임과 사용자 관점에 따라 사용자의 공간 접근성이 달라짐을 확인하였다. 더하여 동적 파티션이 미래의 오피스와 카페에서 사용될 수 있음을 제안하였다. 오피스에서는 기존의 고정된 파티션에 비하여 공간 사용자간의 커뮤니케이션을 도울 수 있을 것이며, 카페에서는 부정적인 개방감을 감소시키고 방문객들에게 더 즐겁고 편안한 분위기를 제공할 수 있을 것이다.
