Credit risks are one of the key pillars of financial risk. To manage this kind of risks, financial institutions try to quantify it, especially by estimating ‘Loss Distribution’ of portfolios. Since ‘Loss Distribution’ does some major roles when we calculate the price of credit derivatives, and optimize credit portfolios, various of advanced researches were conducted such as CreditMetrics (J.P. Morgan, 1997), Creditrisk+ (CSFB, 1997), PortfolioManager (KMV, 1997), CreditPortfolioView (Mckinsey&Comapany, 1997) and so on. In this paper, I would use the method of ‘CreditRisk+’, because it is easier to implement rather than other methodologies, in the way that it only needs credit default risks. However, the original CreditRisk+ method neglects the default correlations, by assuming that risk factors are mutually independent. This assumption consequentially underestimates the credit risk when the financial turmoil comes up. It is because in the real situation, usually a change of one risk factor affects the other factors, too. So in this paper, I would adopt the models which are known as reflecting default correlation well, and compute the portfolio loss distributions with them via Fast Fourier Transform (FFT).
