In the current knowledge-based society, a collaboration of experts from diverse fields is crucial for creative and innovative research. The advent of the Internet and Web 2.0 has lowered the temporal and spatial barrier of knowledge exchanges, and accordingly, online research collaboration services have emerged to promote interactions among researchers in diverse fields. The present thesis performs a comparative analysis of online collaboration platforms suitable for university environment. To this end, an analysis framework is proposed on the basis of the ecology study of university-wide research collaboration. The framework consists of four phases (i.e., knowledge management, research activity analysis, group formation, group research activity). For each phase, inhibiting and facilitating factors are reported on the basis a comprehensive literature survey. Using this framework, a comparative analysis is performed using several collaboration platforms such as ‘TWiki’, ‘Jive’, and ‘Mendeley’, leading to practical design guidelines of online systems for university-wide research collaboration.
현대 지식기반 사회에서 융합적이고 창의적인 연구를 위해 다분야간 전문가들의 협업이 중요시 되고 있다. 인터넷의 발전과 Web 2.0의 영향으로 시공간적인 제약이 없는 사회적 네트워크 형성을 통한 지식교류가 가능해졌고, 이를 활용한 온라인 커뮤니티 기반 연구협업 서비스가 출현하여 연구자간의 상호작용을 촉진시키고 있다. 본 논문은 교내 연구협업 활성화를 위해 교내에 알맞은 협업 플랫폼을 비교 분석하는 것이 주된 목적이다. 체계적인 분석을 위해 융합적 연구 생태계를 기반으로 교내 연구협업활동을 네 단계로 세분화(연구지식관리, 연구활동분석, 협업그룹형성, 그룹연구활동)한다. 그리고 포괄적인 문헌조사를 통해 각 단계별 연구활동에 영향을 주는 촉진/저해요소를 추출하여 분석 프레임워크를 구성한다. 구성된 프레임워크를 토대로 교내 융합적 연구 활동 촉진을 위한 연구협업 서비스 개발을 위해, 상용화되고 있는 연구협업 플랫폼 TWiki, Jive, Mendeley와 비교 분석하고 서비스 디자인 가이드라인을 제시한다.
