Various researches on long-term behavior of concrete such as drying shrinkage and creep have been much done, however most of the previous just related with the concrete itself, i.e. size, mixing proportions, and admixtures, etc.
There is few researches on the effect of finishing materials on the surface of concrete members, even though it affects not only moisture diffusion of concrete, but also drying shrinkage and creep.
These inelastic and time-dependent characteristics of concrete make it hard to predict exact amount of deformation, but it should be properly counted.
This study was conducted to evaluate the effects of moisture diffusion, drying shrinkage and creep of concrete with different finishing materials: water paint, oil paint and waterproofer and different times of spreading finishing materials on the surface of concrete: 3-day and 28-day.
The results show that moisture diffusion, drying shrinkage and creep of concrete are influenced by types of finishing materials and times of finishing. The finishing material on the surface of concrete disturbs moisture diffusion in concrete and makes speed of long-term behavior such as drying shrinkage and creep slower than not applying it. And the sooner finishing materials are applied on concrete, the better it prevents moisture diffusion so that speed of drying shrinkage and creep is slowed down.
건조수축, 크리프와 같은 콘크리트의 장기거동에 관한 다양한 연구가 진행되고 있지만, 지금까지의 연구는 콘크리트 부재의 크기, 배합비 및 혼화제와 관련된 것들이 대부분이다.
콘크리트 표면에 처리하는 마감 재료는 콘크리트 내부의 수분확산뿐만 아니라 콘크리트의 건조수축과 크리프에도 영향을 미치지만 이에 관한 연구는 미비한 실정이다.
콘크리트는 비탄성체이며 시간 의존적 특성을 지니고 있어, 콘크리트의 변형을 정확히 예측하는 것은 상당히 힘들지만, 이를 정확히 예측하는 것은 중요하다.
따라서 이 논문에서는 콘크리트 표면에 처리하는 마감 재료의 종류(수성페인트, 유성페인트, 방수처리제)와 마감 처리시기(재령 3일, 28일)가 콘크리트 내부의 수분확산과 콘크리트의 건조수축 및 크리프에 어떠한 영향을 미치는지 알아보기 위하여 실험을 수행하였다.
실험 결과 마감 재료의 종류와 마감 처리시기는 콘크리트의 수분확산, 건조수축 및 크리프에 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 실험에서 사용한 마감 재료는 콘크리트 내부의 수분확산을 방해하는 효과가 있었고, 이 때문에 콘크리트의 건조수축과 크리프 속도가 감소하였다. 또한, 마감 재료 처리시기가 빠를수록 수분확산 방해 효과가 커 콘크리트의 건조수축과 크리프 속도가 더 감소함을 알 수 있었다.
