For EMI (electromagnetic interference)/EMC (electromagnetic compatibility) testing, the wideband standard electromagnetic wave generating apparatus is necessary. In this thesis, the characteristics of the 3-port pyramid cell, which is superior to other wave generating apparatuses, are studied. It is of practical interest to develop a rigorous solution for the field behavior within such a structure. The Laplace equation is solved for the TEM (transverse electromagnetic) wave analysis. Potential distributions are expressed in eigenfunctions in spherical coordinates, and the mode-matching method is used to solve the equation. The mode-matching solutions are compared with another numerical method. This theoretical model gives accurate and fast convergent solutions. The analytic mode-matching model presented in this thesis is useful for the design and standardization of the 3-port pyramid cell.
표준 광대역 전자파 발생장치는 전자파 간섭 및 전자파 양립성 테스트에 있어서 꼭 필요한 장비이다. 본 논문에서는 다른 전자파 발생장치들에 비해 우수한 특성을 가지는 3-포트 피라미드 셀의 특성에 대해 연구하였다. 이러한 구조의 내부에서 필드가 어떻게 분포하는가에 대한 엄밀한 해를 개발하는 것은 유용하다. TEM 파 해석을 위해서 라플라스 방정식을 풀었다. 전압의 분포를 표현하기 위해 구 좌표계의 고유함수를 이용하였고 방정식을 풀기위해 모드 정합 법을 사용하였다. 이러한 모드 정합법을 다른 수치 해석 방법과 비교하여 타당성을 검증하였다. 이러한 이론적 모델링은 고유 함수를 사용하였기 때문에 정확하고 수렴특성이 빠르다. 본 논문에 제시된 모드 정합 이론은 3-포트 피라미드 셀의 설계 및 표준화에 유용하게 사용될 수 있다.
