Since the 1990s, according to the rapid technological change, the pattern of industrial development has been changed from input each element of production to utilization and creation of scientific and technical knowledge. Developed countries already have been trying to make a variety of policies such as regional cluster to use well made technologies and knowledge for response of that changes. South korea also began to strengthen the innovative cluster policy in order to shift the paradigm to growth based on knowledge and skills to respond positively to this environmental change.
Innovation clusters, to emphasize innovation and competition through the learning mechanism of the formation of tacit knowledge through interaction and cooperation formal and informal between the components. In this study, we will discuss the influence of innovative cluster at different stages of growth of the ventures in fostering innovation cluster policy Daedeok Innopois as a viewpoint of technology acquisition. For this reason, was studied as follows.
1) What characteristics of innovative clusters have influence on technology acquisition of ventures?
2) which growth stage has the impact of the innovation in particular?
3) How dynamic change happen along with the growth stage of ventures in innovative cluster?
As a result of case studies in six ventures for 100 billion won in the Daedeok Innopolis, can be summarized as follows.
1) It was found that the method of technology acquisition and the impact of an innovative cluster is different depending on whether to retain the core carrier of the founder, the organization and R&D, according to the characteristics of the venture at the time of its founding
2) Depending on the state of a product, such as industry and product parts and finished goods, the influence of the innovative cluster appeared in many ways.
3) It shows a dynamic changes depending on the growth stages and the influence of the innovation cluster was affected especially in plateau phase and establishment of new products.
Finally, fact findings of this study are that the influence of innovative cluster has gradually decreased along with business growth and it shows to change such as from product innovation to process innovation
1990년대 이후 급속한 기술발전에 따라 산업 발전의 양상이 요소투입형 발전 전략에서 과학기술 지식의 창출과 활용으로 패턴이 변화하고, 경제 전반에 걸쳐 구조조정이 가속화되면서 혁신 기술의 창출과 효율적 활용이 기존의 요소투입 역량 보다 국가의 경쟁력에 더 큰 영향을 미치고 있다. 선진국들은 이미 창출된 지식의 효율적 확산과 활용을 위하여 국가적.지역적 역량을 결집하는 등 변화에 대응하기 위한 다양한 정책적 시도를 진행하고 있고, 우리나라 역시 이러한 환경변화에 적극적으로 대응하기 위하여 혁신클러스터 정책을 강화하여 과학기술과 지식 기반의 경제로 패러다임을 전환하고 있다.
혁신클러스터는 구성요소간의 공식.비공식적 연계와 상호작용의 전제하에 암묵지 형성 학습메커니즘과 경쟁을 통한 혁신을 강조하고 있다. 본 연구는 현재 집중적으로 혁신클러스터 정책이 진행되고 있는 대덕연구개발특구 내 기업의 성장단계 별 기술획득을 중심으로 혁신클러스터의 영향력에 대해 설명하고자 한다. 이를 위해 본 연구에서는 다음의 과제를 연구대상으로 했다.
첫째, 혁신클러스터의 어떠한 특성이 벤처기업의 기술획득에 영향을 미치나?
둘째, 벤처기업의 성장단계 중 혁신클러스터의 영향을 특별히 많이 받는 단계는 어느 단계인가?
셋째, 혁신클러스터 벤처기업의 성장단계별 기술획득 특성이 어떻게 동적으로 변화하나?
대덕연구개발특구의 6개 1,000억 벤처기업의 사례를 분석한 결과 다음과 같이 결론을 요약할 수 있다.
첫째, 창업자의 경력, R&D 조직 및 핵심기술 보유여부 등 창업 시 기업의 특성에 따라 혁신클러스터의 영향 및 기술획득의 방법이 다른 것으로 나타났다.
둘째, 부품 또는 완성품 등 제품의 상태와 제품이 속한 산업에 따라 혁신클러스터의 영향력은 다르게 타나났다.
셋째, 기업의 성장 단계에 따라 혁신클러스터의 영향력은 동적인 변화를 보였고 신제품이 개발되는 창업기와 정체기 때 특히 더 영향을 미쳤다.
결국, 본 연구의 결과 기업이 성장함에 따라 혁신클러스터의 영향력은 점차 감소하였고, 제품혁신에서 공정혁신의 형태로 변화되는 것으로 나타났다.
