In the era of knowledge-based society, knowledge sharing is attracting a great deal of attention from academics and practitioners because of its multifaceted implications for organizations. Among many aspects of work performance, creativity is apparently one of the most important parts. Nevertheless, the effects of knowledge sharing on individuals are not paid enough attention sufficiently by previous researches.
Besides, the higher education is currently is a main issue for both government and academia. However, knowledge sharing researches mainly concerns business organizations rather than public organizations.
According to the limitation in the field of knowledge sharing and individual creativity research in higher education institution, this study is aiming to focus on examining the effects of knowledge sharing on individual in a higher institution of education in Korea
Thus, objective of this research is set as the development of an integrative model to explain the effects of knowledge sharing on individual creativity. The study draws on both socio-technical view and social capital theory to exploit the important antecedents of knowledge contribution and to examine social and technical facets.
To the best of the authors’ knowledge, it is the first research about the effects of knowledge sharing on individual creativity. With this new perspective, expect to establish the first research literature of knowledge sharing’s effects on individual creativity that has not yet been explained in previous studies. Moreover, this study set knowledge sharing as a mediator between antecedent factors of knowledge sharing and individual creativity. With this improved approach, the model can explain the mediating effects of knowledge sharing on individual creativity, which contributes to both academics and practices to facilitate individual creativity through knowledge sharing. Third, previous studies on knowledge sharing effects mainly focused on organizational effects like organizational performance, this study examines the effects on individual level. Finally, this study focuses on the knowledge sharing in a higher education institution. By applying this approach, the study provides a better rationale of understanding the role of knowledge sharing in higher education institutions.
지식기반 사회에 들어섬에 따라 지식 공유는 그 조직의 퍼포먼스에 대한 영향으로 인해 많은 관심을 받고 있다. 그 중 개인 창의성은 조직의 혁신과 퍼포먼스에 중요한 역할을 하고 그 기초가 되는 요소임에도 불구하고 많은 연구가 되지 않았다.
그리고 고등교육기관은 국가의 경쟁력을 높이고 경쟁력 있는 인재를 배양하는 중요한 기관임에도 불구하고 지식공유 연구에서 고등교육기관은 연구대상으로서 주목을 받지 못하였다.
이러한 선행연구에서의 제한을 극복하고자 본 논문의 목적은 고등교육기관에서 지식공유가 창의성에 미치는 영향을 연구하고자 하였다. 그를 위해 이 논문에서는 사회적 요인과 기술적 요인들을 설정하여 개인 창의성에 대한 지식공유의 매개변수의 역할을 알아보고자 하였다
본 논문은 지식공유와 개인창의성사이의 관계를 처음으로 자세하게 연구한 논문으로서 향후 지식공유 혹은 개인창의성에 대한 연구를 위한 이론적 기반이 될 수 있으며 제안된 지식공유를 통해 개인창의성에 영향 주는 요인들은 지식공유를 통하여 개인창의성을 높이고자 하는 이들의 실무적 지침서가 될 수 있다.
