Wireless Broadband Networks are high-speed wireless internet access and data networks which can be accessed over a wide area. They can leverage other technologies or networks that already in that place. The advent of smartphones and other mobile handsets requires wider broadband penetration in developing countries, which will enhance the rapid adoption of the mobile phones and quickly close the digital divide. The purpose of this research is to scrutinize the success factors of other countries and determine a suitable broadband technology that can enhance wireless broadband in Nigeria. The framework of the study looked at the factors that make the pulling and pushing in the broadband environment after investing on infrastructure to bring the output of connectivity and economic growth. It first analyses broadband technologies, then made a case study of three countries; Korea, Singapore and South Africa to bring out their success factor and made a comparative analysis using the International Telecommunication Union’s (ITU) Measuring the Information Society (MIS) 2011 which, informs policy makers, analyst and investors on the main developments in diffusion and acceptance of ICTs in their country and globally. It also helps policy makers to monitor trends, identify areas for policy action and benchmark their ICT developments against other markets. The findings that were made in this study are of considerable practical importance to the government of Nigeria, telecoms operators as they suggest that operator can deploy LTE to deliver telecom services to their customers based on the observations made from the comparative analysis and the success factor of the countries compared with.

무선 광대역 네트워크는 광역지역에서 접근될 수 있는 초고속 무선 인터넷 접속 및 데이터 네트워크이다. 이것은 이미 사용되고 있는 다른 기술 또는 네트워크와 활용될 수 있다.
광대역 이용을 위해서는 스마트폰과 기타 모바일 핸드셋의 도입이 필수적인데 모바일폰의 빠른 도입을 촉진하고 디지털 격차를 빨리 줄일 수 있을 것이다. 동 연구의 목적은 다른 국가들의 성공요인을 조사하고 나이지리아에서 무선 광대역을 증진할 수 있는 적절한 광역기술을 결정하기 위한 것이다.
연구 체제는 네트워크 접속도와 경제성장을 가져오는 인프라에 투자한 후 광역환경에서 pulling 과 pushing을 만드는 요소들을 살펴보았다. 먼저 광역기술을 분석하고 다음에 한국, 싱가포르, 남아공 3국에 대한 사례조사를 하였으며 정책결정자, 분석자, 투자자들에게 자국 및 세계의 정보통신기술의 확산 및 도입에서의 주요 동향에 대해 알려주는 국제전기통신연합(ITU)의 2011 정보사회 측정을 이용하여 비교분석을 하였다.
그것은 또한 정책결정자들이 추이를 파악하고 정책실행 분야를 도출하고 다른 시장에 대한 정보통신기술 개발을 벤치마킹하는데 도움을 준다. 동 연구에서 나타난 결과는 비교분석과 비교된 국가들의 성공요인 파악을 기초로 나이지리아 운영자들이 고객들에게 통신 서비스를 제공할 수 있는 롱텀에볼류션(LTE)를 배치할 수 있도록 제안하고 있으므로 나이지리아 정부 및 통신 운영자들에게 매우 중요하다.
