Business organizations have recognized that knowledge would be the core source for their survival and competitiveness in the future. Recently, e-learning has been one of the universal is-sues in business as it is an effective method of knowledge or course delivery at the cost of time and place. However, there are few studies about e-learning that support learning that includes more notions beyond just acquiring and understanding knowledge. Most successful organizations not only implemented effective e-learning for staff training and education, but also utilized knowledge management tools for innovation.
In this thesis, I created learning process model to show which procedure a successful or-ganization goes through for innovation. For this, I analyzed some extremely successful cases of 3M Company. Then, I established e-learning system model that supports the learning process model based on the related works. Both of the proposed models reflect the perspective of knowledge management in that it deals with how knowledge for innovation is created and how knowledge management tools could support and enhance learning process of innovation. Inter-views with staff in Korean 3M Company were used to identify essential learning process for in-novation and results of questionnaire verify the two proposed models.
기업 조직은 미래의 생존과 경쟁력을 위해 지식이 핵심 요소라 인식해왔다. 최근에, 이러닝은 시간과 장소 제약을 효과적으로 극복하면서 지식을 전달하는 효과적인 수단이기 때문에, 기업들의 보편적인 이슈가 되었다. 그러나, 단순히 지식의 획득과 이해를 넘어서, 그 이상의 학습 관련 개념을 다루는 연구는 많지 않은 실정이다. 가장 성공적인 기업들은 효과적인 이러닝을 구축할 뿐만이 아니라 혁신을 위해 지식 경영의 툴을 활용해왔다.
본 논문에서는, 혁신을 위해 성공적인 기업이 거쳐야 할 학습 프로세스 모델이 제시되었다. 이를 위해, 쓰리엠 회사의 몇 가지 성공적인 사례를 분석했고, 문헌 조사를 바탕으로 학습 프로세스 모델을 지원하는 이러닝 시스템 모델을 제안했다. 제안된 두 가지 모델들은 혁신을 위해 어떻게 새로운 지식이 창조되고 지식 경영 툴들이 그러한 학습 프로세스를 지원할 수 있는지를 다룬다는 점에서 지식 경영의 관점을 반영한다. 한국 쓰리엠 연구소의 5명의 책임 연구원들과 진행된 인터뷰는 혁신적인 제품, 기술 개발에 있어서 필수적인 학습 프로세스를 확인하는 데에 도움이 되었고, 설문 조사를 통해 본 논문에서 제안한 두 가지 모델에 대한 그들의 견해를 얻어 유효함을 확인할 수 있었다.
