This paper deals with retail shop selling single perishable product in two bins: the fresh items are sold at a list price in the primary bin and the unsold items that have reached an allowed age are transferred to the secondary bin to be sold at a discount price. It is assumed that the demand rates in two bins are independent each other and can be expressed as a function of inventory level, price, and allowed age at the primary bin. With the objective of maximizing the profit, we develop mathematical models for the following two cases under a Last-In-first-Out (LIFO) issuing policy: (1) selling products in primary bin only and (2) selling products in both primary and secondary bins. There are three decision variables, i.e., the reduced price in the secondary bin, the allowed age at the primary bin, and the order quantities for the primary bin. A solution procedure is developed based on Tabu search and its validity is illustrated through comparative studies.
유통기간이 정해져 있는 제품은 그 기간 내에서만 판매가 될 수 있고 그 기간이 지나면 판매할 수 없다. 또한 이러한 제품의 대부분은 신선도가 제품의 품질에 있어서 매우 중요한 요소가 된다.
신선도가 중요한 제품은 시간이 지남에 따라 그 가치가 떨어지고 수요도 줄어들게 된다. 이에 따라 판매자는 (유통기간 내에서) 일정기간이 지난 제품을 할인 판매함으로써 수요를 촉진시키는 정책을 이용한다. 이를 통해, 상대적으로 신선도가 떨어지는 제품의 재고를 줄이고 할인판매를 통한 수익창출을 도모할 수 있는 것이다.
본 논문은 이와 같은 상황에 대하여 연구했다. 매 일정기간마다 얼마만큼의 재고를 채워야 하고, 얼마나 지나야 할인을 적용할 것이며, 얼만큼을 할인할 지 정하는 것이 연구 목적이다. 또한 LIFO, FIFO, Mixed, 세 가지 각각의 재고정책에서 문제 상황을 고려해보았다. 통상 고객들은 항상 신선한 제품을 선택하려고 하기 때문에 LIFO를 선호할 것이고, 판매자는 반대로 FIFO의 정책을 선호할 것이다. 이러한 두 정책이 혼합되어 실제상황에서는 Mixed의 경우가 발생할 것이다. 이러한 세 가지 판매정책에 따라 수익이 어떻게 변화하는지에 대해서 연구해 보았다.
이러한 문제를 풀기 위해 Tabu Search를 이용하여 해답을 구하였고 다양한 parameter 값을 적용함으로써 다양한 결론을 도출할 수 있었다.
