In these days, POP industries fall a dilemma, because they lose the power of concentration in Exhibitions. POP industries always used to adapt new technologies, but now. We suggest POP which has an interactional function to be interested in advertising. We call its iPOP.
iPOP (Interactive Point of Purchase) is the system that has an interactive technology. Considering this, we have established and developed a novel interaction advertising system consisting of LCD touch screen, RFID reader and distance sensor attached on its surface.
Normally, visitors have very limited choices to have information from POP in huge exhibitions such as" CES", "CEBIT" and etc, because products' images were just printed on each POP, and product movie clips were played on screen on and on. We will describe the underlying concepts of iPOP and its motivation. We built an interactive POP a prototype to show this system plain. In this context, iPOP should be able to provide various possibilities for conventional and real space.
본 연구는 기존의 POP문제점을 보완하여 사람들이 많이 모이는 박람회 또는 회의 등에서 사람의 이목을 집중시킬 수 있는 효과적인 POP를 만드는데 있다. 컴퓨터 즉 인터랙션이 가능한 POP와 구매자 또는 유저들이 직관적으로 커뮤니케이션이 가능하게 하기 위해 정보에 빠르게 도달하기, 인터랙션 영역의 확장, 인터랙션 공간 안에 머무르는 시간의 연장 이라는 3가지 목표 위에서 진행하였다. iPOP는 사람들이 많이 모이는 박람회장 등에서 인터랙션 기능을 이용하여 구매자 즉 유저의 능동적인 참여를 가능하게 만드는 역할을 하게 할 것이다. 또 한 이러한 능동적인 참여가 기존의 동영상을 틀어 주는 POP 그리고 키오스크로 대변되는 수동적인 전달방식과 비교하여 iPOP가 유저들에게 효과적임을 증명하는 데 있다. 향후 금번 연구의 결과를 통해서 "CES"와 같은 대형 전시장안에서 인터랙션이 가능한 POP를 곧 볼 수 있으리라 생각한다. 거리와 개인정보를 이용한 iPOP Prototype연구를 통해서 유저들에게 제공되는 정보의 경로를 줄일 수 있음을 확인하였다. 그리고 구매의 중요한 요소가 되는 유저가 광고에 노출 되는 시간을 늘일 수 있었으며, 또한 광고가 제공되는 공간을 확장함을 증명하였다.
