With the advances in Internet, storage and capture technology, people can access to vast amounts of video content. As much as increased number of video content, highly qualified video contents lead significantly increasing needs for highlight or specific scene instead of full-version video content. However, most video players only provide very limited information of videos including playtime and file names. For a player, any information is not provided but location. So, it is hard to get an overview of a video unless watch whole scenes.
In this paper, we introduce new type of time line, “Semantic Timeline Bar”, which allows people to which part of video is interesting (important) and what each part of video has, for Multilateral view. We propose the video segmentation and annotation method by analyzing chat. A chatting frequency that accrued on a website proving video contents during watching video is used to analyze viewer reaction and segment important or interesting parts on a video. To annotate the highlights on a video, extracting keyword method from chat text is suggested.
인터넷 및 기록, 저장 기술의 발달로 소비자들은 매우 많은 양의 비디오 콘텐츠를 접할 수 있게 되었다. 이러한 상황에서 주어진 시간 내에 더 많은 양질의 비디오 컨텐츠를 소비하려는 욕구가 커졌고 그에 따라 사용자들은 전체(full-version) 동영상 대신 하이라이트(요약)나 특정장면만을 보려 한다. 하지만 대부분의 비디오 플레이어는 비디오 파일명이나 플레이시간에 해당하는 시간적 위치에 대한 제한된 데이터만을 보여주기 때문에 비디오 전체를 시청하지 않고 비디오에 대한 개략적인 내용을 파악하기 어렵다. 본 논문에서는 다양해진 비디오 시청자 요구를 다각적인 뷰로 개념화 하고 다각적인 뷰가 가능하도록 시간의 양 뿐만 아니라 의미의 양을 보여주는 시멘틱 타임라인 바(Semantic Timeline Bar)를 제안한다. 시멘틱 타임라인 바가 구현되기 위해서 비디오의 메타데이터 생성이 선행되어야 한다. 사용자들이 동영상 시청 시 이루어지는 채팅의 빈도 변화를 분석하여 시청자들의 반응에 따른 하이라이트에 해당하는 세그먼트를 찾고 채팅내용으로부터 키워드(keyword)를 추출하는 방법을 이용한 메타데이터 생성 방법을 제안한다. 제안한 방법을 통해 생성된 메타데이터를 바탕으로 시멘틱 타임라인 바의 프로토타입을 제작하고 활용방안을 모색한다.
