The IEEE 802.16 WirelessMAN Standard for Wireless Metropolitan Area Networks became IMT-2000 Family by final approval of International Telecommunication Union (ITU)’s Radiocommunication Assembly (RA), known as IMT-2000 OFDMA TDD WMAN in October 2007. In this thesis, network entry and ranging of the Mobile WiMAX MAC protocol is implemented by using Unified Modeling Language (UML)-based model-driven development (MDD) that visualizes the complicated system and increases reusability. We present our detailed design and implementation of network entry and ranging, and the test result of the designed model based on the WiMAX Forum Mobile Test Suite Structure and Test Purposes (TSS&TP) Specification. We also implement the testbed for testing the function of the Mobile WiMAX MAC protocol, and present the test result based on the WiMAX Forum Mobile TSS&TP Specification.
2007년10월에IEEE 802.16 WirelessMAN Standard가 International Telecommunication Union의 Radiocommunication Assembly의 승인에의해 IMT-2000 OFDMA TDD WMAN이라는 이름으로 여섯번째 국제 표준이 되었다. 본 학위논문에서는 복잡한 시스템을 시각적으로 보여주며 재사용성을 높이는 UML기반 모델 중심적 개발 방법으로 Mobile WiMAX MAC 프로토콜의 Network entry와 Ranging을 구현했다. 이를 통해 얻은 Network entry와 Ranging의 상세 디자인과 구현방법을 제시하였고 WiMAX Forum Mobile Test Suite Structure and Test Purposes Specification문서에 기초하여 디자인한 모델을 테스트하고 그 결과를 제시하였다. 또한 Mobile WiMAX MAC 프로토콜의 기능을 테스트하기 위한 testbed를 구현했고 WiMAX Forum Mobile TSS&TP Specification문서에 기초한 테스트 결과를 제시하였다.
