We can easily find the long-tail phenomenon here and there. This concept is derived by the e-commerce. Because of the lower search cost and displaying marginal cost, the market of the niche product grows bigger and bigger. But there is not enough research on the long-term dynamics of this long-tail economics. The purpose of this research is to investigate the long-tail phenomenon over the consumer purchasing behavior by using agent-based modeling approach. In this paper, there are three major findings. First, we found that consumer purchasing behavior act as a moderator between the increasing number of product and the long-tail phenomenon. Also, we found there is stronger long-tail phenomenon when consumers have high variety-seeking tendency and low perceived risk than any other consumer purchasing behaviors as the number of the product is increasing. And, we found the similar result when the time is passing.
최근에 우리의 주변에서 롱테일 현상에서 여기 저기서 쉽게 찾아볼 수 있다. 이 롱테일 경제학의 개념은 전자상거래에서부터 시작되었다. 낮아진 탐색 비용과 진열 비용이 감소함에 따라서 틈새시장제품의 중요성이 점차 커지고 있다. 그러나 롱테일 경제학의 장기적인 변화에 대해서는 충분한 연구가 이루어지지 않고 있다. 본 연구에서는 agent-based modeling 접근법을 사용하여 소비자 구매 행동에 따라서 롱테일 현상에 대해서 조사해보고자 하였다. 첫째로, 본 연구에서는 제품의 수가 증가할 때 롱테일 현상에서 소비자 구매 행동이 조절효과로 작용하고 있음을 밝혀냈다. 특히, 제품의 수가 증가할 때 소비자가 다양성 추구 경향이 높으며 지각된 위험이 낮을 경우에 롱테일 현상이 심화되어 나타남을 알 수 있다. 또한, 시간이 변화할 때도 같은 결과가 나타남을 알 수 있다. 시간이 변화할 때도 소비자 구매행동이 롱테일 현상에서 조절효과로 작용한다. 소비자가 다양성 추구 경향이 높으며, 지각된 위험이 낮을 경우에 롱테일 현상이 다른 경우에 비해서 심화되어서 나타나며 다양성 추구 경향이 낮으며, 지각된 위험이 높을 경우에는 롱테일 현상이 빠르게 소멸하는 현상을 볼 수 있다.
