In this thesis work, we investigate a scheme to improve the throughput of the mobile communication system using multiple-input multiple-output(MIMO) techniques and the hybrid automatic repeat request(H-ARQ) which is composed of ARQ and forward error correction(FEC). We propose an ordering method for the vertical Bell laboratories layered space-time(V-BLAST) detection using H-ARQ. In the V-BLAST architecture, errors in the previously decoded data stream affect all the data stream left to be detected. Using retransmitted frames by H-ARQ, we can improve the performance of the communication system compared with the conventional detection methods without H-ARQ. To verify the performance of the proposed method, we implement a simulator based on the mobile WiMAX system, which is based upon the IEEE 802.16e standard, and compare the throughput of the conventional schemes with the proposed method. As a result from the simulation, we yield the improved performance results of the proposed scheme.
본 논문은 이동통신시스템에서 높은 수율을 얻기 위한 MIMO 기술 중 공간 다중화 MIMO 시스템과 효율적 에러율 저감 기법으로 FEC와 ARQ 로 구성된 hybrid ARQ를 결합하여 데이터 전송 성능을 높이려는 방법에 대한 연구이다. 본 논문에서는 공간 다중화 MIMO 시스템에서 hybrid ARQ를 이용하는 경우에 재전송된 데이터 사용시 성능 향상에 중요한 V-BLAST 검파 순서를 결정하는 방법을 제안하였다. V-BLAST 검파 시에 미리 검파된 데이터를 수신 신호로부터 제거할 때 발생하는 오류는 다음 데이터를 검파하는 데에도 영향을 주는데 재전송된 패킷을 이용하여 보다 정확한 데이터 추정을 통해 오류전파를 줄여 전체적인 수율 향상을 도모한다. 제안한 방식을 검증하기 위해 IEEE 802.16e mobile WiMAX 시스템을 기반으로 하는 시뮬레이터를 구현하여 기존의 방식과 제안한 방식을 실험 하여 성능 향상을 확인하였다.
