AAO(Anodic Aluminum Oxide) nanotemplates with pore diameters of 30-60 nm were used to grow highly ordered Cu and Sn nanowires by means of pulse plating. The nanotemplates were fabricated with general two-step anodizing method. Subsequently, the barrier layer thickness of AAO was reduced by sequential voltage reduction method.
The micro-structure and thermal stability of the nanowires were investigated with TEM(Transmission Electron Microscopy), XRD(X-ray diffraction) and DSC(Differential Scanning Calorimeter) techniques. TEM results showed that Sn nanowires are single-crystalline while Cu nanowires were poly-crystalline and included many low-angle tilt boundaries. According to High-resolution TEM images, both Cu and Sn nanowires were composed of a metal core and an oxide shell. XRD analyses showed that there were no significant structural changes before and after annealing. DSC results showed that melting point, $T_m$ of nanowires decreased with the decrease of nanowire diameter, i.e. 222 ℃, $T_m$ for Sn nanowires with the diameter 30 nm. (cf. 232 ℃, $T_m$ for bulk Sn)
TEM(Transmission Electron Microscopy)과 DSC(Differential Scanning Calorimetry)를 이용하여 미세구조 및 열적 안정성을 평가하였다.
