The purpose of this thesis is to find out the way of selecting and using the APM measures based on the SLM. Though the beginning of the APM was based on the SMS and NMS, these two management concepts were insufficient to reflect the qualities of the whole IT systems and services. So, in addition to the existing functions, monitoring and management functions including the concepts of the business processes and end-user side performance were added. The most important activities of the APM are selecting the performance measures and measuring the indexes. However, the studies on the APM measures have been unsatisfactory. Therefore, this thesis investigates the current APM measures and then proposes a priority evaluation methodology. In order to demonstrate the feasibility of the performance metrics, three real-life cases are illustrated.
최근에는 시스템 성능 관리에 더하여, 사용자가 직접 대면하는 서비스 측면의 성능 관리의 중요성과 필요성이 대두되었으며, 이에 따라 APM(Application Performance Management)이 등장하게 되었다. 그러나, APM은 그 기대와는 달리 시장에서 크게 환영을 받지 못한다. 그 가장 큰 원인은 APM을 제공하는 대다수 업체가 APM을 단순히 기존의 SMS(System Management Solution)나 NPM(Network Performance Management)와 같은 솔루션들의 통합 또는 확장의 개념으로만 접근했기 때문에 사용자들이 기존의 성능관리 시스템과의 차이점을 드러내지 못했기 때문이다. 본 연구는 APM의 활용을 증대시키기 위해서는 APM이 제공하는 서비스를 ITIL과 같은 시스템 서비스 관리의 관점에서 바라보아야 한다는 인식을 근간으로 한다. 이를 위해, APM에서 사용되고 제공되는 여러 성능 지표를 조사하고 분석하여 ITIL 체계 아래에서 이러한 성능 지표의 효과적인 활용 방안에 대하여 연구하고자 한다. 보다 구체적으로는 ITIL(IT Infrastructure Library)의 서비스 체계 중 SLA(Service Level Agreement) 준수와 관리를 중점적으로 연구하여 효과적인 SLA 관리를 위한 APM의 성능 지표 활용 방안에 대하여 연구하는 것을 목표로 한다. APM 활용 방안 연구에 있어서는 효과적인 SLA 지표 선정을 위하여 Harbour의 SMART 모델을 참조하였다. 마지막으로 이러한 연구의 검증을 위하여, 추출된 성능 지표에 대해 3가지 사례에 대하여 설문을 진행하고 AHP 의 이원비교를 이용하여 결과를 분석하였다.
