An analytical model to predict the inelastic behavior of laterally confined reinforced concrete(RC) columns is presented. The material behavior of concrete has been described by an orthotropic constitutive relation, while focusing on the confinement effects by lateral ties, that is deeply related to the yield strength of transverse reinforcements and concrete strength. On the basis of the force equilibrium and strain compatibility in an externally confined RC section, a governing equation to find a strength increase of concrete for the confinement effect is introduced. In addition, an interface model is introduced in this paper to account for local discontinuous deformations at the boundary plane where members with different thickness are connected, because the discontinuous deformations are developed by abrupt changes in stiffness. Finally the developed numerical model is validated through comparison of the obtained numerical results with experimental data for high-strength concrete columns, especially externally reinforced with ultra-high-strength transverse steel or tendons.
이 논문에서는 철근 콘크리트 기둥의 구속효과를 고려한 유한요소 모델을 제시하고 있다. 콘크리트의 구속 효과에 영향을 미치는 횡 방향 보강 철근의 항복 강도 및 부피비, 콘크리트의 강도, 종 방향 철근의 분포 등에 따라 구속된 콘크리트의 응력-변형률 관계를 정의하고 있다. 특별히 고강도 콘크리트의 구속 효과에 유효한 고강도 철근이나 긴장재의 사용에 따른 구속효과를 고려하고 있다. 충분한 횡 방향 보강으로 고강도 콘크리트도 지진발생지역에서 안정된 연성 거동을 얻을 수 있다는 연구결과가 보고되고 있다. 따라서 횡 방향 구속 효과에 따른 콘크리트의 최대 압축 강도를 구하기 위한 이론적인 방법을 제시하고, 나아가 실험결과와의 일치성을 보여주고 있다. 또한 서로 다른 두께를 가지고 연결된 부재의 갑작스런 강성 변화로 인한 경계면에서의 불연속적인 변형을 표현하기 위해 경계면 요소를 사용하였다. 고강도 콘크리트 기둥, 특별히 고강도의 철근 및 긴장재로 보강된 실험들의 하중-변위 관계와의 비교 및 분석을 통해 제안된 모델의 효율성을 검증하고 있다.
