This thesis addresses some models for estimation of stock return volatility to value options. On assumption that Black-Scholes model is right, this thesis suggests five methods that estimate stock return volatility - two methods using daily return data and T-interval return data, and a method calculating weekdays and weekend volatility separately, and two methods using some simulation process - And this study compares option's theoretical value with market price and each other that is calculated from volatility estimation. Also, from a position of writers of option, this study simulates trades using model's theoretical value and delta to calculate appropriate option premium and examines return with risk level. Lastly this study examines which period is good for using in volatility estimation.
As a result, of five methods, the method using daily return data explains option's market price exceedingly, and there's order in methods' theoretical value size. Also hedging using delta reduces option risk.
