Two different methods: spectral pattern analysis (SPA) and spectral mixture analysis (SMA) are used for the estimation of crown closure (CC) in a forest site called “Mabong-jae” in Daejeon. The data used were obtained by the IKONOS-2 satellite with a spatial resolution of 4 m in the autumn of 2001.
In SMA, the convex geometry method was used to select the endmembers: sunlit crown, sunlit understory, and shadow. The fraction of sunlit crown was found to have a high correlation with the field-measured CC. At a spatial resolution of 20 m, there are linear correlations between the estimated CCs using SPA and SMA and the field-measured CC with R2 values of 0.0349 and 0.8424, respectively. The estimated CCs using each of two methods for the whole study site are 53.80% and 45.11% while the field-measured CC is 47.40%.
분광 패턴 분석 (SPA)과 분광 혼합 분석 (SMA)의 두 가지 방법을 이용하여 대전 마봉재 영역의 Crown Closure (CC)를 계산하였다. 사용된 자료는 2001년 가을에 IKONOS-2 위성에 의해 획득된 것으로 공간 해상도는 4m 이다. 분광 혼합 분석에서는 수관, 토지, 그림자의 3가지 엔드 멤버를 선택하기 위해 convex geometry 방법을 사용하였다. 결과, 수관의 비율이 현지 조사된 CC와 높은 상관 관계를 가짐이 밝혀졌다. 20m 해상도로 비교되었을 때, SPA와 SMA로 계산된 CC는 현지 조사값과 선형 관계를 가지며 각각의 상관 계수는 0.0349와 0.8424이다. 전체 연구 영역의 CC의 경우, 현지 조사값이 47.40%인 반면, 두 방법에 의해 계산된 결과는 각각 53.80%와 45.11%이다.
