In considering the human contribution to accidents, it seems necessary to make a distinction between errors and violations; two forms of aberration which may have different psychological origins and demand different remediation. A military driver behavior questionnaire (MDBQ) was developed to explore patterns of aberrant behaviors committed by military drivers. Seventy military drivers completed a military driver behavior questionnaire (MDBQ) which asked them to judge the frequency with which they committed various types of errors and violations when driving. Three fairly robust factors were identified: (unwitting or harmless) slip & lapse, (intended) violation, mistake, respectively. In this case, mistake was the main factor of aberrant behavior. Using factor scores, multiple regressions were&lapse. The more affected by mood a person is, the more likely to commit violation, while drivers rating themselves as relatively safe make fewer violation. Drivers confessing to error proneness report fewer mistakes.
매년 발생하는 군내 크고 작은 차량사고의 분석이 대부분 운전병의 운전미숙으로 결론지어지고, 그에 따른 후속조치로 사고사례를 전파하고 지휘관들의 정신교육과 각성을 촉구하는 수준에서 이루어지고 있다. 그러나 사고에 대한 보다 입체적인 분석과 원인제거를 위한 교육훈련의 바탕 없이는 추가적인 사고를 줄이기 어려울 것이다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 운전병의 운전행태를 조사, 분석하여 차량사고를 야기하는 주요원인에 대해 규명하고, 이 자료를 기반으로 운전병의 운전행태를 정량화할 수 있는 MDBQ(Military Driver Behavior Questionnaire)를 제작 / 활용하여 운전행태에 따른 맞춤교육방법 제시는 물론, 향후 군 차량사고 예방을 위한 DB구축과 교육훈련의 정형화를 추구할 수 있는 방법론을 제시한다.
