A methodology of reflecting the dynamic characteristics of viscoelastic material under small-amplitude vibration superimposed on static compression strain has been developed. The constitutive equation of viscoelastic material used in commercial FEM code does not describe the behavior of vicoelastic material under small-amplitude vibration superimposed on static compression strain
In this study, the correction factor to reflect the influence of pre-strain is introduced into Morman model used in the commercial FEM code, ABAQUS. The correction factor is a function of generalized octahedral shear strain which describes the static deformation and determined by experimental results. There are two steps to reflect the correction factor to ABAQUS. The first step is static analysis which computes the correction factor of each finite element model. The second step is dynamic analysis with finite element model, to which the correction factor is applied.
In order to verify the proposed methodology the dynamic stiffness of vicoelastic material with complex shape is examined, so that results of analysis are good agreements with experimental results in aspect of the trend of experimental results. However, there exists still a bias error of 10% This study examines the several reasons of a bias error.
