The essence of Internet is any to any connectivity so that in order to provide thorough connectivity every network within the Internet must connect one to another, physically or virtually. At the beginning of the Internet era, Internet backbone networks were interconnected only by peering method but as Internet becomes more sophisticated the transit method emerged in to the market. The peering method is a simple interconnection method where all the Internet backbone providers consider being equal so that they interconnect their networks each other and exchange traffics without any charges but in transit method client Internet backbone providers must pay for the services they acquired from service providers. As world-wide Internet users grew rapidly so did international Internet interconnections and also international Internet interconnection issues relating transit method arose between Internet interconnecting countries. Thusly the purpose of this study is to scrutinize Internet interconnection methods, international Internet interconnection cost and traffic trends between domestic and overseas, surfacing issues relating international Internet interconnection and brief possible remedies for these issues.
