Low rate IEEE 802.15.4 WPAN system requires low power, low cost and small size transceiver. To implement low power communication system, not only each block’s power efficiency but also proper architecture is important. So proper RF system architecture and baseband analog architecture is studied.
Baseband optimization method is proposed this thesis. Also optimization method is verified by simulation. Baseband blocks using 0.18㎛ CMOS technology are fabricated and measured. Total power consumption is 2.4mA at 1.8V $V_{dd}ㆍ(I,Q path)$ Baseband chain has 12 ~ 58dB gain with 2dB resolution and performances of 25dBm $IIP_3$, 31dB noise figure.
