In most of research works on the wireless ad-hoc network, it is often assumed that all nodes in the network are cooperative to relay packets. However in the ad-hoc network between persons which will be widely deployed following the ubiquitous computing environment, since the mobile nodes belong to different persons, they do not have the responsibility to relay packets. For this noncooperative situation, a framework which stimulates the nodes to mutually cooperate is proposed in [9]. In addition to the mutual cooperation, due to the characteristics of the data diversity the framework has, it is possible that lots of simultaneous disseminations of the content occur over the whole network area. It was shown that the framework utilizes more net capacity of the network than the multi-hop cooperative ad-hoc network does by exploiting the data diversity and eliminating a redundant bandwidth waste for the multi-hop packet relays. However, the framework has large variance on content dissemination time and low dissemination rate at the beginning and ending of the dissemination according to the mobility of the nodes. Moreover, the system model used for analysis is unrealistic.
We propose an ad-hoc content dissemination protocol based on monetary economy to enhance the content dissemination rate and reduce the variance of the dissemination time by introducing a currency. We show that our protocol outperforms the previous one through the simulations and our system model is more realistic and precise. We expect that the monetary economy in the ad-hoc network would evolve rapidly as it did in the human society with the various usage of a currency that we have suggested in the paper.
무선 애드혹과 관련한 대부분의 연구에서, 모바일 노드들은 패킷을 협력적으로 전달하는 것으로 가정하고 있다. 그러나 유비쿼터스 컴퓨팅시대에 맞춰 활발히 전개될 것으로 생각되는 개인간의 애드혹 통신은 모바일 노드의 소유주체가 다름에 따라 협력적일 의무를 가지지 않게 된다. 이러한 비협력 애드혹 상황에서, 모바일 노드간의 상호협력을 촉진하고 데이터다수성을 발생시킴으로써 높은 컨텐트 확산속도를 가지는 확산 기법이 W.Yuen 에 의해 제안되었다. 그러나 제안된 기법은 확산시간의 분산이 매우 크고, 확산속도의 저하가 일어나는 부분이 있다는 단점들을 가지고 있고, 제시된 시스템모델과 분석도 비현실적이다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 비협력 애드혹에서의 화폐경제를 정의하고 이를 도입한 컨텐트 확산 프로토콜을 제안하여 기존의 단점들을 극복하고, 현실적인 시스템모델과 분석방법을 제시한다. 그 결과로 제안된 프로토콜이 기존의 확산기법을 성능면에서 압도하고 있음을 보인다. 이에 추가로 화폐도입의 효과를 논의하고, 비협력 애드혹의 화폐경제 활성화를 위해 필수적인 통화관리자를 새로운 무선 비즈니스 영역으로 제시한다.
