For time hopping ultra wideband (TH-UWB) multiple access (MA) system, various detection schemes have been investigated [1,2]. But, in multipath channel and multiuser case, the proper detection scheme was not considered. Additionally, channel parameters must be correctly estimated for favorable performance. In this paper, minimum mean square error (MMSE) multiuser detection (MUD) is considered for multiuser interference (MUI) cancellation. MMSE MUD is optimal in a sense of minimizing mean square error. But this must know channel parameters of desired user and has high complexity in autocorrelation matrix inversion. For considering problems of MMSE, the new MUD scheme is proposed. The proposed scheme do MUD without channel information by using the filter maximizing signal to interference and noise ratio (SINR) and then, estimate channel parameters as principal eigenvector of filter outputs’ autocorrelation matrix. The proposed scheme can reduce complexity. Besides, the simulation results show that the proposed scheme has a good performance near MMSE MUD and estimates channel parameters more correctly than conventional scheme [3].
