In this paper, an electromagnetically coupled microstrip patch array antenna was designed and manufactured for Korsat reception of Ku-band. Two primary objectives of this development are reducing the cost of the antenna for receiving satellite broadcasting using copper-clad laminate films and foams, and simplifying the geometry of the antenna to fabricate easily. Analysis and designs are presented of a rectangular patch antenna with electromagnetically coupled feed and 8×8 array antennas. The manufactured microstrip patch array antenna has a resonant frequency of 12.225GHz. The experimental results showed the directivity of 27.27dBi(12.225GHz), gian of 25.55dB(12.225GHz), VSWR of 1.23 : 1(12.225GHz), 3dB Beamwidth of 7° and cross polarization of -35dB.
