It is getting more important to collect blood easily as the technology of diagnosing and analyzing diseases via blood test getting popularized. The pain coming from blood-gathering is a major reason people avoid the blood test. This research is for developing a blood-collecting device which gives less pain than the existing commercialized devices. The main idea is when operating a needle with high frequency, skin penetrating occurs with relatively little deformation, then pain can be reduced. In this research a blood-collecting device using bimorph-type PZT which is operated with high frequency was developed. Several dynamic characteristics of the device have been tested and proved. The evaluation of skin penetrating pain was subjectively tested and found that the developed new device can effectively collect blood with less pain.
