Knowledge Management System is becoming a common system at every large company in recent days including Construction Industries. In this regard, the success factors of Knowledge Management System (KMS) are very important to the firms. But many prior researches have focused on the application of a new technical component for knowledge management process or theoretical architectures.
This study proposes three categories of success factors which are system quality, information quality, and KM strategy affecting the knowledge management system performance and how they affect the performance of KMS. In order to test the effect of 3 factors, 86 employees in 3 different Korean construction companies were selected as samples. The results show that compensation is the most important factors on the successful performance of KMS. The qualities of knowledge, the level of search function and, the level of knowledge classification are also essential factors in KMS. The implication of this study will be very useful to the firms which have KMS and also have plans in future.
