The orthogonal frequency division multiplexing(OFDM) is a modulation scheme which divides the available spectrum into several subchannels and transmits digital signals through the subchannels.
Because subchannels orthogonality is lost due to frequency offset error, the performance of the OFDM system is very sensitive to carrier frequency offset due to frequency difference between oscillators in the transmitter and the receiver.
In this thesis , we propose a efficient frequency offset estimation scheme for OFDM systems requiring only one pilot block, based on a conventional method which requires two training block..
Our method is the capability to perform a carrier frequency acquisition over the large bandwidth of the OFDM signal. But error variance is not increased. We provide simulation results demonstration the performance of the new estimator.
