Since the trend of ‘fewer quantity, more items’ in product development is globalizing, companies faced with never-ending global competitions are now pursuing for cooperative partnerships in order to produce their products better and faster. CPC(Collaborative Product Commerce) is a new paradigm of product development in which companies in partnership can share their product data through web and develop their competence together.
The data of these companies, however, have different forms and semantics since they were originally made for internal use. This has been one of the most critical obstacle against information sharing between cooperating companies while information sharing is crucial in cooperative product development.
This thesis tries to improve the PDM Schema, the suggested standard of manufacturing PDM information in manufacturing environment, by analyzing company information. Based on the improved PDM Schema, it suggests CPC integrated information schema. It also suggests document-based PPO(Product, Process, Organization) information sharing methodology using XML in order to support web-based CPC.
