Bi- or tri- dentate schiff base ligands and phosphinimide ligand were synthesized as non-Cp ligands. Titanium complexes based on these ligands, such as N-phenyl-3,5-di-tert-butylsalicylaldiminotitanium trichloride (1), N-(2,6-dimethylphenyl)-3,5-di-tert-butylsalicylaldiminotitanium trichloride (2), (1R,2S)-2-indanol-1-N-(3’,5’-di-tert-butylsalicylidenyl)aminotitanium trichloride (3), (1R,2S)-2-indanol-1-N-(Salicylidenyl)aminotitanium trichloride (thf) (4) and triphenylphosphoranylidenyl-aminotitanium trichloride (5), were synthesized. And the molecular structure of 3 and 4 were determined as six-coordinated complexes by single crystal x-ray diffraction study. Styrene polymerization behaviors of these complexes 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5 have been studied in the presence of MAO as a cocatalyst. They have considerable activity, but show low syndiotacticity.
