Recently, venture businesses are becoming an important part of a healthy economy of our nation, with most of the net new jobs created by new ventures in the 21$^st$ century. In spite of this concentration, almost all existing studies on implementing knowledge management systems that can effectively support business strategy of ventures so far have simply remained on the level of a conventional approach of the extent that a school textbook teaches. Especially ventures in IT industry that try to establish and utilize the business strategy often experience high degree of difficulties in practically implementing knowledge management systems.
Therfore, the purpose of the dissertation is to provide venture entrepreneurs with knowledge management systems more suitable for thier environment and their business strategies. Knowledge management is a core competence that companies must develop to have competitive advantages in the modern hyper-competitive environment. One of the key success factors for knowledge management is the development of knowledge management systems.
In this point of view, this dissertation categorizes ventures in IT industry by analyzing external environment and business strategies and further figures out shat strategy ventures in IT industry should adopt in order to maximize the venture's performance considering external and internal factors. This study also presents applicable knowledge management systems based on the aforementioned types of business strategy of new ventures through case study methodology.
As a result of this study, this paper suggests the critical issues and requirments in building effective knowledge management systems in ventures' organization.
Finally, this study is expected to assist more ventures operating business in establishing knnowledge management systems more suitable for thir strategies.
