This study is on the analysis of business and method of increasing revenues for domestic webcasting services. Webcasting is one of new businesses driven by Internet. At present, The circumstance of webcasting is changed for the better by reason of rapidly growing Internet users and ultra-high speed Internet infrastructure. But, a lot of webcasting company is created and extinguished by market operation. This paper first provides webcasting business criteria, business model and critical success factors in a descriptive level and, second, presents a case study of business model and profitability of a major webcasting company, and as a conclusion, suggests methods for increasing revenues for webcasting. The suggested method of increasing revenues for webcasting includes a syndication model of educational field of very large size in cyber business market, a strategic access for charging contents in very massive streaming media and a practical use of CDN(Contents Delivery Network) for transmission of high quality contents in present Internet infrastructure,
본 논문은 인터넷방송 수익모델 분석과 수익성 증대를 위한 연구입니다. 본 연구를 위하여 우선 문헌적으로 인터넷방송의 비즈니스 영역, 수익모델의 나열과 성공 전략들을 구체적으로 파악하고, 실제로 메이저 인터넷방송사의 수익모델과 수익성을 사례로 분석하여, 현재 시장논리에 의거 우후죽순으로 신생과 소멸을 병행하고 있는 인터넷 방송사에 시사점을 모색하고자 합니다. 수익모델 보완방향으로는 현재 가장 시장규모가 큰 인터넷 교육시장의 수익모델을 보완한 신디케이션 사업에 대하여 중점적으로 논하고, 수익성 증대를 위하여는 스트리밍 미디어의 최대 수익원인 컨텐츠 유료화에 대한 전략적 접근방안을 분석하여 보며, 마지막으로 영상 미디어 서비스를 타겟으로 하는 인터넷방송의 고품질 컨텐츠 서비스 제공을 위하여 CDN 서비스 솔루션 활용을 적극적으로 고려하여야 합니다.
