Discrete-time queueing systems have been studied more and more for evaluating and analyzing various systems in the fields of digital telecommunications. So, many methods have been developed and used for discrete-time queueing systems. But It was not easy to understand and apply.
In this thesis, we use state transition diagrams and balance equations. These are very easy and simple but powerful tools. In simple models, we can derive distributions of customers in systems and PGF of distributions of customers from balance equations directly. In complex models, we can make balance equations more easily and correctly. In addition, this thesis gives the difference due to the two types of dealing with arrival customers.
