The rapid changes of managerial environment with a paradigm shift and the development of information technology made the rivalry between companies more intensive. It has been generally accepted that the knowledge is a core capability for shareholder’s value and its generation, storage, and reuse increase competing power of the company. However, firms usually face difficulties in identifying which knowledge is a core strategic resource and they are wasting time and energy by trying to manage all of knowledge in an organization.
This paper suggests the methodology of Knowledge Management include situational factors for its application to real KM project. Situational factors mean domestic and foreign environmental situations as well as the developmental phase of KM in each company. In this paper, the developmental phases are classified into three types, which are Document Management System Installation, Infrastructure Construction for KM, and Advancement of KM.
For this paper, the author researched and analyzed some existing KM methodologies and found essential components for KM Methodology. The components were used and included in this methodology research.
This paper tried to validate this new approach by case study. The author modified the pre-identified methodology and developed some tools for the projects.
이 논문은 기존의 지식경영 방법론에 대한 리뷰를 통해 방법론의 주요 요소들을 확인하고, 이를 고려하여 예비 방법론을 제시하고, 실제 프로젝트를 통해 방법론을 수정하고 관련 도구들을 개발하는 방법으로 새로운 방법론을 제안하였다.
본 연구의 지식경영 방법론에서는 기업의 상황 요인들을 고려하고 각 상황에 따라 방법론의 적용 방향이 달라져야 한다는 것을 사례연구를 통해 밝히고 있으며, 더불어 지식경영 방법론이 회사의 현재의 지식경영 발전 단계에 따라 적용되는 프레임을 차별화하여야 할 것을 주장하고 있다.
