As an infrastructure for all economic activities, telecommunications service industry is fundamental building block. Considering negative impacts of its failure on economy and its subscribers, it`s very important to analyze factors leading to the failure and prevent it in advance. Contrary to previous researches that used statistical methods, this study identifies the cause of service failures through the analysis of dynamic service failure mechanism. 14 failed telecommunications services are reviewed, and their common factors for failures are analyzed. Those findings are applied to the new service development process, and countermeasures to the service failure are presented.
통신 서비스 산업은 국가의 infrastructure로써 다른 산업을 지원하는 역할을 한다. 통신 서비스의 실패는 막대한 자원의 낭비뿐만 아니라 국가 경제와 소비자에 미치는 영향이 크므로 이의 원인을 파악하고 방지하는 것은 의미 있는 일이다. 기존의 실패 관련 연구가 통계학적으로 상관관계만을 분석한데 반해 본 연구에서는 서비스 실패의 동적인 메커니즘을 분석하여 서비스가 실패하는 경로를 파악하는데 주안점을 두었다. 14종의 실패하였거나 부진한 서비스를 분석하여 여기서 공통적으로 나타나는 실패 원인과 실패의 과정을 통신 서비스 개발과정에 적용하여 서비스 실패에 대한 대응책을 제시하였다.
