Electronic counter measures (ECM) is the electronic warfare involving actions taken to prevent or reduce the effective use of radar systems. To disturb the missile radar, ECM makes the pseudo signal similar to the reflected signal of target. So missile radar system needs to distinguish the target from ECM. Various efficient schemes have been proposed for target identification. Since previous schemes mainly assumed high resolution radar, they could extract more information from received signals in time domain or frequency domain . In this thesis we assume that the radar has low resolution, so the received signal is modeled as one-dimensional discrete-time signal with 3-8 sample points. Therefore, previous schemes cannot be applied directly due to the difference in approaching methods and system models. So we propose an efficient scheme for target identification with small number of sample data in low resolution radar system. The proposed scheme classifies target signal based on target signal feature and on signal correlation method. The numerical results show that the proposed scheme can identify the target with very high accuracy. Especially the proposed scheme can effectively identify target when the distance from radar to target is between 5-10km and angle of target and the direction of radar`s movement is small than 60°.
