This thesis aims at integrating heterogeneous digital newspaper services using distributed object technologies such as CORBA and Java. To manage clients, servers, and network devices in a consistent manner, the integrated system adopts a Digital Newspaper Services Interface Proxy (DNSIP) as an integrated vehicle. Distributed objects are used to wrap the legacy system for existing digital newspaper services. To accomodate heterogeneous management protocols and applications in a distributed client server environment, an architecture of digital newspapers is developed by the use of DNSIP. Furthermore, to highlight its potential usefulness, the architecture has been applied to integrating several popular newspapers in Korea.
