With the rapid development of recent technologies, the environment of product development is facing fundamental changes. As the importance of design grows, so does the scale of design organization. To keep the pace of the changes in circumstances, many corporations have been made continuous attempt to organize the effective work environment, and to improve productivities. Recently most organizational activities related to product development, are separated into projects, and specialized. Team approach is also very important. Work these backgrounds, there needs to make an systematic approach about the work environment.
So, this study sets the objectives to understand the nature of work environment and the characteristics of the alternatives recently proposed which can be explained by the concept of total work environment. And applying VSM(viable system model), the formation process will be dealt, how total workplace concept is applied in design organization. This study includes basic understanding of work environment, and design workplace as well. And the concept of total work environment have been studied through the case studies related to alternative work environment which is based on the changes of work paradigm. To apply the concept of total work environment into design organization, VSM(viable system model) is made into practical use, which is a tool to analyse organizational structure and to propose a guideline for reform any organization. In advance, field study was accompanied, which contains questionnaire list and interview with professionals.
이 연구는 디자인 조직의 작업환경을 올바르게 구축함으로써 디자이너들의 창의성을 극대화할 수 있는 방안을 마련하는 것을 목적으로 한다. 이를 통해 디자인 작업의 효율성과 생산성을 높일 수 있는 실천적인 방안을 강구하는 것을 목표로 진행되었다. 통합적인 디자인 작업환경을 구축함으로써 창의적인 디자인 조직 분위기를 형성하고, 디자인 조직을 구성하는 단위(unit)들 간의 협조가 원활히 이루어질 수 있는 시스템을 형성하고자하는 것이다. 효율적이고 체계적인 디자인 작업환경을 구축함으로써 디자이너의 창의성과 생산성을 높이고 치열한 디지털시대의 경쟁에서 우위를 점하기 위해서는 작업 패러다임의 변화를 직시해야 하며, 이 변화에 대처할 수 있는 디지털 작업환경을 갖추어야 한다. 따라서 연구의 출발점은 작업환경의 본질을 이해하고 작업환경에 대한 개념의 발전 과정과 여러 가지 영향요인을 파악하는 데 있다. 이러한 이해를 바탕으로 디자인 작업환경의 특징과 구성요소에 대해 알아보고, 변화하는 시대환경에 적응할 수 있는 통합적인 작업환경에 대해 연구해보고자 한다.
