Recently, we see frequently that discussion for knowledge management is in progress actively. That is because new key word for twenty-first century is knowledge management. Knowledge management is to control and manage the knowledge for business operation and that terminology has come to be no unfamiliar concept in business, and condition for surviving in nowadays extremely competitive environment.
Kepco is facing the greatest change era owing to extended participation of private power plant project for monopoly system reformation of power plant section, and propulsion of separation of power plant since its foundation. To meet with the requirements of this change, the company introduces the new paradigm, the concept of knowledge management in order to share and protect the core knowledge in each power plant, prevent the extirpation of accumulated knowledge from company separation, and smoothly convert individual knowledge into internalized organization's knowledge ; consequently, the company is able to elevate the organization's competitiveness and operational reliability in power plant.
This study focuses on presenting the methodology for propulsion of knowledge management in Kepco power plant. For this purpose, this research measures and identifies the degree of readiness of each employee in terms of organizational culture and information technology. At last, this research also concludes the strengths and weakness of ramification of the survey.
This study contributes roughly three aspects of knowledge management in Kepco power plant. Firstly, it provides the apposite information of knowledge management, fitting into organizational situation with Kepco. Secondly, it provides management basis for integration of the activities of knowledge management that has been implemented discursively throughout the organization. Lastly, this research would prompt Kepco power plant to focus on its kernel business affairs by identifying and selecting the entries of knowledge management.
