As the need for sharing product data over network grows, studies on the visualization of the standard CAD data over the Internet are required. Previous studies have been limited to the monoscopic visualization.
As computer technologies improve, the human-computer interaction have developed the ergonomic and intuitive interface. The studies on stereoscopic display and hologram have been grown for the visualization.
This thesis describes the method of visualization of STEP models on the Internet using intuitive interface. The stereoscopic display and head tracking devices makes users easily and rapidly understand complex models. The visualzation on the web allows users to access and to share the data models.
The stereoscopic STEP viewer has 3 modules. The STEP Parser reads and parses STEP physical file. The STEP Loader translates the parsed STEP data into scene graph. The Model Viewer which is pluged in a web browser, visualizes stereoscopically the scene graph and supports head tracking.
