As network technology continue remarkable growth, tendency of communication on the Internet changes from simple data communication to multimedia communication including audio, video and data. Applications like internet phone, videophone and videoconferencing are developed on various networks. The current videophone applications are based on network which provides non-guaranteed quality of services. As a result, videophones suffer from lack of bandwidth and QoS, so have problems of packet loss, packet delay on network congestion. Another problem is that videophone which is not based on standard can not communicate with other videophones. This paper proposes videophone based on ITU-T H.323 standard to provide interoperability with other videophones. Efficient realtime error concealment, rate control and media synchronization were implemented to provide high quality of audio and video service.
네트웍 기술이 발전함에 따라 인터넷상에서의 통신은 단순한 데이터 통신위주에서 음성과 영상을 포함하는 멀티미디어 통신으로 변화하고 있고 화상 전화 시스템은 새로운 멀티미디어 통신으로 주목 받고있다. 현재의 화상 전화 시스템은 QoS를 보장하지 않는 네트웍을 기반으로 하고있기 때문에 네트웍 혼잡 시에 패킷 손실과 패킷 지연이 발생하는 문제를 가지고 있다. 또한 표준을 따르지 않는 화상 전화 시스템은 다른 화상 전화 시스템과 서로 통신할 수 없는 문제점를 가지고 있다. 본 논문에서는 다른 화상 전화 시스템과의 상호 연동성을 제공하기 위해서 H.323 표준을 기반으로 하여 화상 전화 시스템을 구현하였다. 구현된 화상 전화 시스템은 양질의 오디오, 비디오 서비스를 제공하기 위해 에러 감추기와 전송률 제어 그리고 미디어간 동기화 기법을 제공하였다.
