There are many implementations of the wireless communication system. We can select various architectures for the implementation. Nowadays the implementation of single chip radio is the hot issue. In this thesis we proposed the digital base band architecture for single chip ultra low power consumption wireless data communication application with careful estimation. And we designed a microprocessor, which has symbol domain data processing ability and minimum overhead for I/O operation. We call it "MCU/DSP". The MCU/DSP is 16-bit 5-stage pipelined RISC(Reduced Instruction Set Computer) machine. From it's various features such as 32-bit extendable instruction format, CSSU in data path, H/W stack, DMA circular buffer, etc. we can estimate 10% of gain for the specific benchmark application program.
