In this study, structural analysis of curved bridge using B3-spline functions has been presented. Unlike the classical series functions, by adopting B3-spline functions, the restrictions in consideration of boundary conditions have been released, and the application to the real bridge structures with a prismatic section along the longitudinal direction has been achieved through the expansion of a strip element.
While considering the effect of lateral stiffener directly, the compatibility conditions between the strip elements and the stiffener have been used.
Finally, correlation studies between analytical results and other previous numerical and experimental studies are conducted to establish the validity of the proposed numerical approach, and good agreements have been achieved.
