This thesis considers the pricing of variable life insurance policies with a death benefit guarantee; such policies provide for benefits which depend upon the performance of a reference portfolio subject to a minimum guaranteed benefit. The benefit includes the value of put option by guaranteeing a minimum death benefit. This thesis derives a procedure for determining the value of the put option.
