A new s-band active phase shifter with gain using vector sum method is proposed and a unique digital phase control method is also suggested in this proposed scheme.
The proposed active phase shifter which is consisted of Wilkinson power combiners, branch line quadrature hybrids and variable gain amplifiers (VGAs) using dual gate MESFET (DGFET) is also designed and implemented. It is shown that the proposed active phase shifter is more effective than the other active phase shifters in size and power and the unique digital phase control method is working properly.
