TQM has played an important role in business management for a decade and it's importance continues to grow. Quality control and quality improvement are the most valuable categories of TQM to the manufacturing industry. However, it is very difficult to set up the best condition of manufacturing specification by executing the DOE(design of experiments) like the Taguchi method in plants which have large equipment or sequential processes. In this thesis, SPC system, in combination with the Expert System, is shown to produce better operating rules than existing ones and control the processes better when these operating rules are applied. Under the given conditions, the Expert System continuously produces the new better operating conditions. There is no need to stop the manufacturing machine to improve operating conditions. Through monitoring the process, this system can establish new rules. The Expert System can acquire knowledge from the monitored information and show decision trees or new operating rules of the given attributes of the input variables. Finally, the method is implemented in the manufacturing process of color-CRT, where the screen is manufactured. The new operating conditions are presented by using real data executed by Expert Systems such as C4.5 and BPN5.
